Grantwriter’s FastTrack Coaching Program: FAQ

Got questions about the Ggrantwriter’s FastTrack Coaching Program? You’ve come to the right place! (You should also know about the main page for the program.)

Who is the program for?

The program was designed for you if:

  • You have grantwriting responsibilities as a nonprofit development or program staff member, volunteer, or board member
  • You are a beginning/intermediate grantwriter
  • You have strong writing skills and want to explore the world of grantwriting

How is this program different from regular grantwriting classes?

The FastTrack Program does not just deliver one-size-fits-all group training. Rather, it is customized to the small group’s specific interest areas: you will help shape your own experience. You will be working on a real grantwriting project; the program is by no means just theoretical!

As an online and conference call program, FastTrack offers a convenient, hands-on opportunity to develop your work over several weeks. There will be lots of real-time interaction and Q&A (by phone and Facebook group), so you will be working in an ongoing community. Your insights will add value to the group discussion and hearing others’ different perspectives will add to your own learning process.

Although participants will not be “graded” per se, those completing the program will get a Certificate of Completion and 7 points toward CFRE International certification and/or re-certification. An end-of-program assessment of your performance and ways to improve/next steps will be available upon request.

What topics will be covered?

Check out the List of Topics. Topics not discussed in the group can be addressed in your individual laser sessions.

What if I can’t make all 4 conference calls?

If, for some reason, you are unable to join a live group call or two, you will be able to interact with the group and ask questions via our private Facebook page. You will also want to listen to the recordings of the calls. If you know ahead of time that you can only attend some of the live group calls, we can make arrangements to ensure that you still get maximum value from the program.

Your 60 minutes of private “laser” coaching will be scheduled according to your own availability.

How much of a time commitment is involved?

In addition to the group and laser calls, you will need to plan for approximately 1-2 hours per week (on your own schedule) to devote to program homework. If you are brand new to grantwriting, or if you are not already working on a grant proposal, you may have to devote an additional 1-2 hours per week to the program.

Do I need any special software, equipment, or technical skills to participate?

You just need a phone with long distance service and a computer with reliable Internet access. You will need to call in from a quiet place. We use a private Facebook page for the FastTrack Program; you will need a Facebook profile or you can create a temporary one just for the program period.

What kind of grantwriting background do I need?

If you have attended at least 1 introductory course on grantwriting and/or have been part of at least 1 grant proposal process, that is excellent! If you are just starting out, no worries. You will have lots of opportunities to take free online tutorials to hit the ground running. The only requirement is the motivation to work with others to improve your grantwriting skills.

Do I need to identify the grants I want to apply for – before the program starts?

You will need to know the organization/program for which you are writing a grant proposal. You will have guidance and time during the FastTrack Program to do research on potential grantors.

Will I have to reveal confidential information to others in the program?

Certainly not! You can delete any identifying information if you have privacy concerns.

Does the program cover government or academic grantwriting?

Our main focus is on grantwriting for foundation and corporate funders. We will also hear from a grantwriter who specializes in government grants. The information you learn will be transferrable.

Can I hear a sample of the training and coaching you offer?

Yes! Just watch this introductory webinar.

How much does the FastTrack Program cost?

The regular rate for the program is only $527. The Early Bird rate is just $477. An installment plan of 3 monthly payments is also available.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Of course! Fully participate in the FastTrack Program until the first Friday of the session. If you are not already getting incredible value from the program, I will offer a full refund.
